Too Many Options Kills your Offer Urgency

Having too many options to work with you is killing your urgency.
It’s one of the biggest red flags I help my clients work through. For example, you have 1:1 coaching, but they can choose between 3 months or 6 months, or you offer DFY services with the option to choose between done in a week or done in 6 weeks.
I know this feels like you’re giving people more flexibility and supporting a decision, but really, it just creates clouds where there could have been clarity. What ends up happening is your people don’t see two options and think “yay options!”…they see two options and think:
And next thing you know, you’re having more complicated sales calls and long conversations in the DMs. You’re worried that you sound like you’re “upselling” if you suggest the bigger / higher package is the better fit, and they can’t self-identify which option is right for them.
Nooooo, thank yew.
Think of it this way: If you went up to a swim instructor and said, “I want to learn how to swim.” When they come back and answer you, “Great! Would you like the 3-month program or the 6-month program?” You’re stumped. You don’t know the answer because you don’t actually know how long it takes to learn to swim.
Your audience is coming to YOU as the expert.
They want to be told what’s required for success so they can understand, decide they’re ready, and get started. Instead, you’re handing the decision back to them – and now they’re second-guessing things before you’ve even started.
